Dr. Dawg - The Stance is Everything

Stand your ground. This is a great video. I myself was in a slump for about 18 weeks. I just could not get going and was contemplating on taking up bingo since my pool playing abilities was really pissing me off. Just a few weeks ago, I was out playing pool one night with a friend, and it hit me while I was lining upto shoot at the 1 ball. I felt a slight pain in my back. (I remembered this had happened to me once before)

I stood up for a second, not moving my lower body and looked at how my stance was positioned. I got down to shoot the shot again and the twitchy pain was back. Without moving my body, I slightly bent my left leg, and straightened my right leg. (I am a right hand shooter).

The pain went away. I actually felt comfortable. I shot the ball (which wasn’t an easy cut shot) and it fell. A light went off. For the next 3 days when I played pool, I made myself get into the position that made me shoot pool better that night. So far my mind has adapted to this and I form the correct stance when approaching the table to shoot shots.

DR Dawg’s Tips

Greetings from Dr. Dawg,

I will be sharing tips I have picked up in the past 9 years of playing billiards, from 9-ball to 8-ball to even one pocket billiards. I do not claim to be a pro nor semi-pro, but I do love playing pool. I could give the energizer bunny a run for his money. :)
